Fooled by a trick
Well it has been probably 10 years since I have been fooled by a trick, let alone a card trick, but it happened. One of my friends that I hadnt seen in years came to my work the other day. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians just like I was, but I got out of it roughly about 8 years ago just because I have been so busy. Anyways he came by my work the other day and we talked about the meetings, magic, and all that kind of stuff. He told me he had been working on something and had me pick 5 cards at random, and believe me they were totally at random. Then without him looking at them he had me memorize one card out of that five and then mix them up. He then took the packet face down and put a weight on each card. With the backs of the cards to him, he showed me the first card and said that it weighs 8 pounds, the second was 7 pounds, third was 6 pounds, and so on. My card that I seen weighed 6 pounds, (pretend 6 pounds of course). He then held the cards in his hand and once I told him the pretend weight of my card he felt all 5 cards and found mine. Now I know It may not sound that impressive typing what he did, but here is why the trick fooled me. At no point did he ever look at the cards, at no point could he have possibly even known what my card was and on top of that, once they were mixed up I didnt even know where my card was. Well to make a long story short he shot me an email later on how he did, and its really cool. So it will be a new one that I’ll be adding to my close up show. After 10 years of never being fooled, it was kind of nice to be the spectator again.
